Rattling pipes can give you annoying sounds. This usually happens when you open or close the faucet. Naturally, the pressure of water can cause the walls move when the plumbing system passes through such area. This makes the pipes to rattle. Another reason is when you have loose faucet washers. The lack of the air chamber in the hot water system can also cause rattling.
The said problem can be diagnosed easily; when you hear rattles, you need to locate where the sound comes from. If this needs minor repair, most probably you can do it especially if it only requires tightening the washers.
But if the need is more than such like installing an air chamber of the loose washers are found in some areas and will necessitates breaking the wall to correct wrong fittings, these should be done by a certified plumber.
